Gwyneth Paltrow was born into the entertainment business, her mother is actress Blythe Danner and her father is producer Bruce Paltrow. Gwyneth Paltrow and brother, Jake, spent most of their childhood in Los Angeles. When Gwyneth was 11, the family moved to Massachusetts where her father began working in summer stock productions in the Berkshires. It was here that she received her early acting training under the tutelage of her parents. She later enrolled at the Spence School where she graduated. Gwyneth Paltrow then returned to the west coast to enroll at the University of California in Santa Barbara to study Art History, but she realized that she lacked the commitment to her studies and withdrew.
Her father encouraged Gwyneth Paltrow to go back to school, but Gwyneth Paltrow decided to pursue a career in acting which began with a moving performance in the Williamstown Theater production of "Picnic", where she starred alongside her mother. Her first audition landed her debut into film in 1991's "Shout" with John Travolta. Gwyneth Paltrow, in a chance meeting with Steven Spielberg, was cast in the role as "Young Wendy" in box office hit "Hook" (1991). It wasn't until her remarkable performance in "Flesh & Bone" in 1993 that her career really took off.
In 1995, she was cast in "Seven", opposite Brad Pitt, and the pair started a highly publicized romantic relationship. Gwyneth Paltrow broke her much publicized engagement to actor Brad Pitt, citing the reason that neither she nor Brad Pitt felt that they could pursue their respective careers and at the same time maintain a happy marriage.
Gwyneth Paltrow emerged quickly from Brad Pitt's shadow, and accepted roles in "Moonlight & Valentino" and "The Pall Bearer", along with an astounding performance in "Emma". Gwyneth Paltrow most famous role to date is that of Viola in "Shakespeare in Love". Her brilliant performance and mastering of the English accent earned Gwyneth Paltrow the Oscar for Best Actress.
Gwyneth Paltrow is also one of Hollywood's busiest actresses, signed on to no less than 15 movies since 1998. Gwyneth Paltrow's most recent projects include her role as Maud Bailey in the upcoming film, "Possession", "The Royal Tenenbaums", "Shallow Hal", and in 2002, "A View from the Top". Gwyneth Paltrow and her Coldplay singer husband Chris Martin are almost ready to move into their new home in London, but neighbours of the celebrity couple are saying that their "new abode" is haunted.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Martin bought the 5.7 million dollar house from Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes and are currently renovating it before shifting in. But the neighbours have claimed that the house has a long history of supernatural activity.
"The house was stunning inside, even before Chris and Gwyneth Paltrow started work, but there is an eerie feeling in there. Past occupants had bad luck in their families and were keen to sell. There were always rumours of unhappiness," ratethemusic quoted a neighbour as saying.
"Sam and Kate weren't in it for that long, so maybe they felt the same feelings. Hopefully, now the new owners have gutted it, the bad omens will have gone and they will enjoy happier times," he added.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow wants to spend her life in solitude and would prefer to swap her glamorous Hollywood lifestyle for a much simpler one.
According to The Daily Mail, in a recent interview to Instyle magazine, the Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow who reportedly loves Spain, expressed her desire to get away from the limelight and live a simple and free life in the Spanish countryside.
"At this point in my life, I am craving space, air, cleanliness. I want to be able to see sky. Gwyneth Paltrow wants solitude, and you just don't get that in New York," she was quoted as saying.
"The way the Spanish live is really healthy. Everybody eats a clean, Mediterranean diet. They come home from work and have a leisurely lunch with their families, then take a nap. They love each other, they love to dance, drink wine, to be together and sing. They're inspiring, Gwyneth Paltrow added.
"I come here about four times a year, because it's the farthest from Hollywood you can get. I don't know how it happened, but within a week, I could speak Spanish. They've been my second family ever since, Gwyneth Paltrow said.

Gwyneth Paltrow's cupping therapy seems to have inspired Kate Winslet to try her hand at it for herself.
According to The Mirror, Kate Winslet had the treatment for a wrenched neck she got from loading the washer. "I stood up and thought, 'Aargh! That's not right'. Then it got worse. So I had the cupping thing for it. You know, like Gwyneth Paltrow," she was quoted as saying.
She also added that she and her husband Sam Mendes know a good Chinese herbalist who does cupping which is putting heated glass jars on the affected part of the body.
"The herbalist said: 'You're not going to be wearing anything with a low back soon, are you? Because there will be some marks.
Not the same sort of marks as Gwyneth Paltrow but there will be some'. It definitely has helped," she added
Gwyneth Paltrow face for Damiana
Gwyneth Paltrow has been named the new celebrity spokesperson for Damiani.
The announcement was made at a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, at event attended by Silvia Damiani, one of the family members that manages the company, and Paltrow.
The campaign will be launched in the next few days in magazines around the world, the Italian jewelry design house said in a statement.
