Synthèse de ce que le cinéma mondial comptait de meilleur en termes d'action et d'effets spéciaux, la fable new age Matrix faisait déjà l'effet en 1999 d'une véritable révolution. À ce premier chapitre de leur trilogie, les frères Wachowski ont offert une suite à la hauteur des attentes. Sur les écrans français en mai 2003, "Matrix Reloaded" fait en effet monter d'un cran la qualité du spectacle. Les scènes d'action, mi-réelles, mi-virtuelles, sont purement jubilatoires, l'histoire d'amour on ne peut plus romantique et les nouveaux personnages truculents. Et si la philosophie véhiculée, un tantinet bon marché, fait parfois sourire, le film développe une réflexion politique intéressante et démontre qu'un divertissement, tout aussi high-tech et calibré qu'il puisse être, peut aussi se révéler propice à la méditation

In this second chapter of the "Matrix" trilogy, Neo assumes greater command of his extraordinary powers as Zion falls under siege to the Machine Army.
